Local specialities in Saint-Brieuc

Scallops


The flagship product of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, the scallop is fished daily at a depth of 30 metres. You can enjoy them as a snack, in carpaccio or baked in one of the many restaurants in Saint-Brieuc town centre. If you fancy cooking it yourself, head to the market every Saturday morning.


Kouign-amann


This is the emblematic cake of Brittany, made with butter (lots of butter!), caramelised sugar and puff pastry. This 100% Breizh delicacy is sold in all the good bakeries in Saint-Brieuc town centre. To take home kouign-amann and other Breton biscuits, visit the Brieuc biscuit factory shop in Yffiniac (10 minutes from Saint-Brieuc).


Cider


You can't come to Brittany without enjoying a glass of cider! Raw or semi-dry, this Breton beverage is the perfect accompaniment to crêpes and galettes de sarrazin. In the Saint-Brieuc area, many local producers offer direct sales.
